He is manager in a Centre for personal rational training, a consultant and a personal coach for the International Management and Health Advisors BVBA, and a founder of “De Sleutel”. De Sleutel is a network for drug addiction prevention and treatment as a nonprofit association of the Brothers of Charity in Flanders. Johan, finished his masters in psychology and educational sciences at the Ghent University and later gathered his qualifications as a trained and recognised psychotherapist in client-centred therapy and Bonding Psychotherapy qualified by the International Society for Bonding Psychotherapy (ISBP) – in which he held presidency – and the Vlaams-Nederlandse Vereniging voor Bondingpsychotherapie (VBP  Flemish-Dutch Society for Bonding Psychotherapy). He is a member of multiple non-profit organisations including Rotary club in Maldegem from 2004 in which he founded a Rotarian Action Group Addiction Prevention and a commission preventing addiction in Rotary district 1620.
