Doctor in Medical Sciences and a specialist in Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases. He combined his infectious disease specialist education program with a PhD in the laboratory for Molecular Virology in a Catholic University in Leuven. Since 2008 he is a Group Leader at the HIV translational Unit at the Ghent University and since 2010 a Guest Professor as the Gladstone Institute in San Francisco. He is a member of several review boards, including the International AIDS Society, European AIDS Clinical Society, European Society for Antiviral Resistance and is on the editorial board of The Journal of Viral Eradication. Linos Vandekerckhove won different scientific awards from the Belgian Society of Internal Medicine and from the AIDS Clinical Society. He published over 100 A1 publications including 1 publication in Lancet infectious Diseases with an h-index of 17 and 1980 overall citations.
