LIFE IS IN YOUR BLOOD
The Güzelyalı Rotaract Club has a tradition of conducting blood donation drives, which this year was expanded by collaborating with other clubs to increase visibility and impact. We began by collaborating with the Kardzhali Rotaract Club and then reached agreements with other participating clubs. A joint informational campaign was launched on the four participating clubs’ Instagram accounts, providing concise but detailed information on blood donation criteria, procedures, benefits, and donation frequency. Each club then organized a blood donation event in their respective communities. Some clubs tailored these events for their members, guests, and associates, while others hosted events for the general public.
To support the project, educational workshops on the importance of blood and stem cell donations were held. These workshops sought to educate and inform participants about the critical role that such donations play in saving lives. The collaboration with the Red Crescent (Kızılay in Turkish) and the Municipalty of Çeşme provided a professional and comprehensive approach to the initiative. This dual strategy of conducting direct action through blood drives and reinforcing it with educational workshops increased community engagement and contributed significantly to healthcare services.
