Rotaract New Year’ s Eve 2017

The Italian Rotaract Districts are glad to invite you to the “Rotaract New Year’s Eve 2017”. The event will take place from December 29th to January 1st, and you will be hosted in Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance: a city of unspeakable heritage, home to culture, arts, architecture and science, which has always been a preferred destination for tourists coming from all corners of the world. It is certainly no coincidence that Stendhal experienced the symptoms of his famous syndrome as he was admiring the Florentine landscape: “I had reached that level of emotion where you meet the celestial sensations given by the arts and passionate feelings. Coming out of Santa Croce, I had a heartbeat, life for me was fading, I walked fearing to fall”. Not by chance, the theme we have chosen for this New Year’s Eve 2017 is “Le temps revient”, which was Lorenzo il Magnifico’s motto: time recurs according to the natural cycles, and men must learn to seize the moment and enjoy the good times in life. Our wish is that all participants may live this experience by the adage “carpe diem”, and thus relive, even if just for three days, the magnificence of Lorenzo and of his city. On the first day, Thursday 29th, after taking a walk along the most characteristics alleys and in the main squares, surrounded by artworks of extraordinary beauty, we will have dinner at “Harry’s Bar”, on a terrace with a suggestive view over Ponte Vecchio. On Friday 30th we will visit the “Uffizi”, one among the most beautiful art galleries in the world, which surely doesn’t need any introduction, since its reputation speaks for itself. At the end of the day we will reach the majestic Villa Viviani for a dinner of Tuscan specialties: you will be able to taste and enjoy typical products and great wine next to a piano bar playing live music, after which we will let the dance begin and we will start the party, Italian style. More trips will let you experience the beauty of Florence on the last day, Saturday 31st, right after the visit to the Antinori winery, to dive deep into the essence of “Tuscanity”. The gala dinner will be held at Villa Artimino, a magnificent villa dating back to the Medici family times, with a triumphant entrance and elegant frescoes in the inside: the profits from the dinner will be devolved to the Telethon foundation, which mission is to support research on genetic diseases, especially rare ones. Music will be playing all night long, and this will be the best way to welcome all together the upcoming year, and all of the dreams and wishes that come with it. What better occasion to spend three days surrounded by art, delighted by the peculiarities of one of the most beautiful cities in Italy?
