Osijek Rotaract Weekend 2016

Osijek Rotaract Weekend is a three-in-one event by Rotaract Club Osijek which will be held this autumn from 14th to 16th October in our city, as well as in Baranja, a wine-rich Croatian region northeast of Osijek. ORW2016 will start on Friday with our Club’s 20th Anniversary gala dinner in Hotel Osijek, city’s most exclusive hotel located in the Winter Harbour with an awesome view of Promenada, river Drava and the famous suspension bridge crossing it. Almost 150 attendees – Rotaractors, Rotarians, Innerwheelers and Rotary Exchange students – are expected to join us in celebration of our first two decades being part of a global Rotaract family as one of the oldest clubs in Croatia. When the official programme and the dinner ends, our DJ will bring you to the dance floor and the party will last ‘till the early morning hours. On Saturday morning, while most of you will still be sleeping and recuperating for the Day 2, ORW2016 will continue with a Semiannual District Meeting of District 1913 Rotaract clubs. The meeting, better known as “Konfica”, will be held at the Faculty of Business and Economics, the founding faculty of the city’s Strossmayer University. It will bring our DRR and the presidents of all the D1913 clubs together for the first time this Rotarian year to exchange experiences and plan the activities for the following months. That formal part of ORW2016 won’t last long because in the early afternoon the record two big buses will be awaiting us in historic Tvrđa. From there, we’ll be heading to Baranja officially starting the XVIII Rotaract Wine Roads, Rotaract Osijek’s most famous and long-lasting project. The 2016 Winery Plan will cover Gerštmajer Winery for the starters, continuing with Pinkert and finally ending in famous Josić Winery with live tamburaši, dinner and as-much-as-you-can-drink amounts of wine. Around midnight we’re coming back to Osijek and continuing the party in one of eleven Tvrđa’s nightclubs.
