Rotaractors of District 2420/Turkey are working towards to ending new HIV infections, ensuring that all HIV infected people have access to treatment and create an awareness on HIV and encourage Rotaractors to get involved globally.

AIDS Disease is a rapidly growing issue worldwide. Many people living with HIV or at risk for HIV still do not have access to prevention, care, and treatment, and there is still no cure. However, effective treatment with antiretroviral drugs can control the virus so that people with HIV can enjoy healthy lives and reduce the risk of transmitting the virus to others. In this project, Rotaract Clubs of District 2420 aimed to cover Rotary’s ‘disease prevention and treatment’ and ‘economic and community development’ areas.

We encouraged Rotaractors globally to organize meetings/seminars to create an awareness within their local community, distribute AIDS Awareness Brochures through malls, street, squares etc. and give brief information about disease to their community, run a social media campaign by sharing informative flyers. We also initated Red Challenge on social media and invite them to participate in. People wore something red on them, took a picture and shared it on instagram, nominated others to do the same thing.

17 countries, 39 clubs and RI President Barry Rassin have been involved the project worldwide! 🙂
