Did you know that on the 29th of November in Poland we do fortune telling? It’s St Andrew’s Day or, how we call it here, Andrzejki. People go to parties, spend time with their friends and have a lot of fun. We’ve all decided that it’s a good opportunity to do something for the local community and, just like last year, went to an orphanage to do fortune telling with the kids. The Rotary Youth Exchange Students who stay in our city were happy to join us and we’ve all had tons of fun and so did the kids. They were so happy that we’ve found time to visit them and play with them. Thanks to this, they found out what job they will do in the future, what will the names of their partners or best friends be and simply what future awaits them. Of course all of this was just for fun, but the kids loved all of the games and, obviously, the candy we gave them. The kids also got to know a couple of English words, thanks to the exchange students. These kinds of events not only let us help the kids spend a good time but they also strengthen our friendship.
