Our goal is to support an orphanage located in the central region of Kenya (Ndaragwa) which houses have over 100 children orphaned or abandoned. The purpose of our service is not therefore make a simple charitable donation, but create a development program that allows the structure and its guests to reach sooner the most complete autonomy.
Casa Maria was born in 2004 thanks to PDG Rotary District 2030 Sebastiano Cocuzza. In these ten years, thanks to the work of Rotary and Rotaract, the structure has grown and now includes dormitories, dining halls, nursery, dispensary for drugs, guest house for volunteers, nursery, gardens, stables, a greenhouse, a plant for biogas, a bread oven and a sports ground.
The National Service of all Rotaract District of Italy for the year 2014/15 will:
1. Ensure a steady and safe source of income for Casa Maria through the construction of a guesthouse at the School of Crafts in Nanyuki.
2. Provide to the kids of Casa Maria triennial professional courses free at the Keita Technical School of Nanyuki.
3. Contribute to the maintenance of the children hosted by adopting a distance.
4. Make periods of active volunteering at Casa Maria
